EAC Central Banks Experts shared information on accounting and reporting best practices
The National Bank of Rwanda hosted the EAC-MAC Accounting and Finance Subcommittee Workshop which took place at Lemigo Hotel from 11 -13 March 2013.
At the Opening ceremony, Dr. Nsanzabaganwa Monique, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda said that the workshop is opportune as Central Banks in the region particularly EAC have to respond to the challenges of harmonization of Central Bank financial accounting and reporting practices. Today, it is my hope that this workshop while discussing implementation modalities and challenges relating to financial instruments accounting and reporting, participants should also understand that Central Banks are faced with more specific challenges to improve their financial reporting on regional and global business, financial market development, a changing resource base and evolving roles, she noted.
The workshop was attended by delegates from all central banks in the East African Community.
